Reducing the Risk of Avian Bird Flu in the work place Using Germ Warfare® Products
We cannot afford to be complacent …
The H5N1 virus – also called “Avian Bird Flu” – is an influenza A virus subtype that occurs mainly in birds, is highly contagious among birds, and can be deadly to them. The H5N1 virus does not “usually” infect people, but infections with these viruses have occurred in humans. Most of these cases have resulted from people having direct or close contact with H5N1-infected poultry or H5N1-contaminated surfaces. Because these viruses do not commonly infect humans, there is little or no immune protection against them in the human population. If the H5N1 virus were to gain the capacity to spread easily from person to person from surfaces, an influenza pandemic could begin. The existence the Germ Warfare® product range is a preventative measure to eradicate the opportunity for the virus to spread via surfaces and mutate, and infiltrate the human body, by helping to reduce the risk of the virus spreading by regularly cleaning work surfaces, wiping hands with Germ Warfare® products.

Is your desk making you sick?
Government sources reported 1,100 cases of work-related infections. They accept this is probably a gross under representation of the real situation.
In the peak of cold and flu season, many office workers may want to hide at their desks to avoid those hacking and sneezing co-workers. But health experts say that could be the very place that makes them sick.
A recent study by the University of Arizona found the typical worker’s desk has hundreds of times more bacteria per square inch than an office toilet seat. If that’s not disturbing enough, desks, phones and other private surfaces are also prime habitats for the viruses that cause colds and flu.
Bacteria, single-celled organisms, can cause strep throat, pneumonia and other conditions. They can be treated with antibiotics. However, viruses, which are smaller than bacteria, cause colds and flu and cannot be treated with antibiotics.
Dr. Charles Gerba, a microbiologist at the University of Arizona, counted bacteria on workplace surfaces for a study of bacteria in the work place.
Office toilet seats had 49 germs per square inch, he found. But desktops had almost 21,000 germs per square inch. Phones were worse — more than 25,000 germs per square inch.
Desks, phones, computer keyboards and mice are key germ transfer points because people touch them so often, adding that coughing and sneezing can leave behind “a minefield of viruses” that can live on a surface for up to three days. But health experts say that simple office hygiene can reduce infection risks dramatically. By using the Germ Warfare® range of products you can significantly reduce the risk of infection
“We know that 80 percent of the infections you get are transmitted through the environment.
