Meet The Staff:

Sue Wynn: Director

Sue has over 23yrs experience within the NHS and has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including overseas. Awarded First class honours Degree in 2002 Community Care studies. MSc 2006 Applied Public Health Sue is an Honorary Tutor at Liverpool John Moores University teaching undergraduate and post graduate Infection prevention and control and Communicable diseases.

 

Pauline Bradshaw

Pauline qualified as an RGN  IN 1986, since qualifying she has held a number of posts in Acute Hospitals and formerly the Community as an infection Control Nurse, she has special interest in tissue viability And is an active member of the Infection Prevention Society. Following an IPC Nurse lead in NHS Halton St helens, she has now gone on to become Operational Director for Infection Prevention and control at Alder Hey Childrens hospital.She also teaches at Edge Hill University.

 

Pam Wild

Pam has extensive experience working in the NHS for 35 years. She started life as an MLSO specialising in Microbiology. After many years working in Microbiology Pam trained as an RGN as she wanted a more front line roll in healthcare. Pam has many years in working as an Infection Prevention and Control Nurse and has worked in two acute trusts. She had a duel roll within acute and primary care. During her time Pam spent some years working for The Health Protection Agency looking at infection Prevention. For the last 7 years Pam has again worked directly for the Primary Care Trust and is experienced in leading two teams. One of the teams was in the acute care sector and at the moment is a Lead Nurse/Manager working in Infection Prevention and Control for Western Cheshire PCT.

 

 

Sandra Holt

Sandra has extensive experience working in a variety of fields. She qualified in 1983 from Withington Hospital Manchester. She worked there as a staff nurse for a few years before joining the Queens Alexanders Royal army nursing corps as a nursing officer. Since her time in the army she has worked both in the NHS and the private sector. Her interest in Infection control came ten years ago when she took up a role as TB Specialist Nurse in Warrington. She later became Lead Infection Control Specialist Nurse at Warrington PCT. Sandra has a wide variety of knowledge of infection control and infectious diseases and has taught for many years to a variety of audiences.

 Decontamination Award Level 2 Course

This course is aimed at -  All Social Care / Domiciliary Care Staff

1 Day Course

This one day course is open to all health and social care workers who want to improve their knowledge around infection prevention and control.

It is suitable for care home, agency and qualified staff. This is a comprehensive course and has a 45 minute MCQ assessment to attain the award. It is a requirement of the Care Quality Commission that all providers of care receive training around infection prevention and control and is also suitable for housekeepers, domestics and   kitchen staff.

Those who do not wish to sit the assessment will receive a certificate of attendance.

Learning outcomes are

  • Gain knowledge and understanding the different types of germs and how they can spread.
  • How to wash hands using the right technique.
  • How to maintain a clean safe environment

  • MRSA how to manage and prevent spread

This course is aimed at - Environmental Health Officers

This one day or half day seminar is to provide Environmental Health Officers with a framework for monitoring and assessing infection control practice in Tattoo studios

The course covers the following topics

  • Decontamination standards
  • Training around Blood Borne viruses and other infection risks.
  • Audit tools for assisting in the process

  • Personal protective equipment

This half day seminar is a bespoke course on communicable diseases in Creches and Nurseries were young children come into contact with each other.

 This service we will come in and audit your premises and systems from the view point of occupational health and infection control.

We will carry out a full audit and train your staff how to carry out internal audits.
